Join us — we’re always interested in motivated students and postdocs!

If you are excited about spatial cognition, ageing, and neurodegenerative disease, and want hands-on experience with cutting-edge behavioural experiments and immersive virtual reality, we would love to hear from you.

Our lab is an international and collaborative team with a strong focus on open science, supportive mentoring, and rigorous, creative research. We offer a lively research environment with regular lab meetings, journal clubs, and opportunities to engage with interdisciplinary projects and the broader scientific community. English is the main working language in the lab, and we welcome applications from candidates worldwide.

Undergraduate & Master’s Students

Interested in gaining first-hand research experience in a dynamic lab environment? We regularly offer opportunities for undergraduate and Master’s students to get involved in ongoing projects. You will work closely with PhD students and postdocs and become part of an active research culture with regular meetings and hands-on training.
Typical tasks and project components include:

  • creating and testing virtual environments
  • supporting behavioural experiments (data collection, participant management)
  • assisting with data processing and study logistics
  • contributing to research projects and thesis work (for Master’s students)

Postdoctoral Researchers

We are always looking for ambitious, creative, and self-driven scientists for postdoctoral positions in our lab. We value team science, independence, and intellectual curiosity, and we support postdocs in developing their own research profile while contributing to ongoing projects and collaborations.
In addition, the DZNE provides extensive career development opportunities for postdoctoral researchers, including mentoring programs, leadership training, grant-writing support, and structured career development resources.

Postdoctoral researchers in our lab are also encouraged to apply for highly competitive fellowship opportunities, including the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship and the Humboldt Research Fellowship. If you are considering applying for an external fellowship, we are happy to discuss project ideas and support your application.
