Cologne (Germany), September 28, 2026. Prof. Frank Jessen, a researcher at DZNE and director at the University Hospital Cologne, has been appointed to the Lancet Commission “on Clinical Pathways for Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders”.
Lancet Commissions are appointed expert panels convened by the renowned medical journal The Lancet. They investigate urgent and complex issues in global health, science, and healthcare with the goal of developing actionable recommendations.
This specific commission focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. It comprises 25 international experts and patient advocates. The commission’s work is scheduled to span three to five years, culminating in one or more publications.
