Digital Biomarkers in Parkinson’s disease

Priv.-Doz. Dr. Michael Sommerauer

Areas of investigation/research focus

As a clinician scientist, I study prodromal Parkinson’s disease using REM sleep behavior disorder as a model, integrating multimodal neuroimaging, quantitative sleep analysis, and detailed motor and cognitive phenotyping. My work focuses on computational approaches to derive early disease fingerprints from multimodal data and to translate these markers into scalable digital tools for early detection and intervention.
