1. DZG Meeting Lower Saxony

April 17 in Hanover

Bonn/Hanover (Germany), April 15, 2026. Experts from the German Centers for Health Research (DZG), including representatives from DZNE, will convene in Hanover on April 17 for scientific exchange.

The program comprises lectures and poster sessions. Key topics include clinical research, translational research, start-ups, and product development. DZNE will present, e.g., research on early diagnosis of dementia based on blood biomarkers. In addition, insights will be provided into the Göttingen-based start-up “brainQr Therapeutics”, which is developing therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases.

The DZG focus on researching widespread diseases and developing new therapies. They collaborate across disciplines. Members include: DZNE, the German Center for Diabetes Research (DZD), the German Center for Infection Research (DZIF), the German Center for Cardiovascular Research (DZHK), the German Center for Lung Research (DZL), the German Cancer Consortium (DKTK), the German Center for Mental Health (DZPG), and the German Center for Child and Adolescent Health (DZKJ).

The DZG operate at numerous sites across Germany; in Lower Saxony, these include Braunschweig, Göttingen, and Hanover. The DZG are funded by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR).
