Frank Jessen is a New Member of the World Dementia Council
The DZNE scientist investigates the early detection of Alzheimer's disease
Prof. Frank Jessen, Head of the research group Clinical Alzheimer’s Disease Research at DZNE and Director of the Clinic and Polyclinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the University Hospital Cologne, was recently appointed as a new member of the World Dementia Council (WDC). The award recognizes Frank Jessen's outstanding scientific achievements in the field of Alzheimer's research, particularly in the area of early detection of the disease.
The WDC is an international charity established by the UK Government following the G8 Dementia Summit held in London in 2013. Its thirty members are leading scientists and representatives of international patient organizations, philanthropic research funders, the pharmaceutical industry, and international health policy makers. The WDC's goal is to pursue the objectives of the Dementia Summit in a sustainable manner, thereby improving awareness, care, and research funding for dementia worldwide.
