How to apply?

Application Information

We want you to know what to expect from us right from the start. That is why we make our application process clear, transparent, and easy to understand.

At the same time, the initial recruitment stage is often handled not by Human Resources, but by the respective research groups, research areas, and teams themselves—particularly for scientific positions. This means that you will often be in direct contact with the teams you may later work with.

How the application process works

1. Apply through our job advertisements
Please apply exclusively through the respective job advertisement on our job portal. This ensures that your documents reach the right contact persons directly. Unfortunately, we cannot consider applications submitted by email.

2. Review of your documents
Your application will be reviewed by the responsible department or research group. Depending on the position, our Recruiting Team may also be involved.

3. Initial interview
If your profile is a good match, we will invite you to an initial interview, either online or on site. This is an opportunity to get to know each other and clarify any initial questions.

4. Further discussion/additional interview
Depending on the position, this may be followed by another interview or a professional discussion with the team.

5. Decision & offer
If everything is a good fit, you will receive feedback promptly—and, in the best-case scenario, an offer from us.

6. Onboarding
We look forward to working together to improve the lives of people with neurodegenerative diseases.

Applying with Disabilities

Our understanding of diversity and inclusion: We want you to feel comfortable and safe when applying to the DZNE and to experience an application process that is as accessible as possible. Applications from people with disabilities are expressly welcome. It is important to us that professional qualifications, motivation, and potential remain the main focus.

What is important for your application

Providing information about a disability is generally voluntary. You decide whether and when you would like to disclose a disability or equivalent status during the application process. Informing us at an early stage can be helpful if you require support or individual adjustments, for example:

  • Accessible entry to the interview venue
  • Additional time for tasks or tests
  • Technical support
  • An alternative form of communication
  • Assistance or communication support

Disability Statement

At DZNE, we aim to create a working environment in which people with disabilities can contribute and develop their skills, perspectives, and experiences on an equal basis. Different life experiences and perspectives enrich our collaboration and strengthen our organization.

For us, inclusion is part of a culture of respect, openness, and belonging. That is why we work to remove barriers and create fair access to the application process, collaboration, development, and participation in working life. Our aim is to promote conditions that enable people to perform their work effectively, develop professionally, and feel that they belong at the DZNE.

Removing barriers and strengthening participation are responsibilities shared by our organization and all its members. Together, we work to embed inclusion in everyday life and continuously improve the conditions at the DZNE.
