Neuron-D
A joint spin-off of the DZNE and the Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden (IPF), providing technology for drug development.
As a service provider and technology partner for pharmaceutical companies and research institutions, Neuron-D offers a novel approach to test drug candidates for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. The technology applied by Neuron-D is based on a 3D cell culture method, which allows to replicate key features of neurons in the human brain and the pathology associated with neurodegeneration much better than conventional methods. This technology originates from DZNE studies on the mechanisms of brain diseases like Alzheimer’s and research by IPF on novel biomaterials.
