Saarbrücken/Bonn, November, 27th, 2018. Scientists around the world are collecting patient data to develop new therapies against widespread diseases such as dementia, stroke and cancer. These data derive, e. g. from blood samples or MR, X-ray or PET images sources. Researchers now face the challenge of how to efficiently evaluate these biomedical data without infringing the privacy of patients. Experts at the Helmholtz Center for Information Security (CISPA) and the DZNE intend to jointly develop the necessary trustworthy methods. For this, they have now established the “Helmholtz Medical Security and Privacy Research Center” (HMSP).
