Slide scanners are fully motorized microscopes for automated imaging of large regions of interest, like whole brain slices. Special hard- and software components are used to guarantee highest degree of illumination homogeneity, automatic tissue detection, and auto-focusing. Thus, slide scanners are ideally suited for imaging a large quantity of slides with unsurpassed reproducibility.
The Axio Scan.Z1 from Zeiss is configured for brightfield (color camera) and fluorescence applications with all common fluorescent dyes (scientific CMOS camera). The microscope is equipped with a 2.5X, 10X, 20X, and 40X objective. Up to 100 slides can be loaded. We have loading trays for slides with the size of 26 mm x 76 mm and 52 mm x 76 mm. Automatic geometric and color calibrations guarantee reproducibility over time.
