CellVoyager CV6000 (Yokogawa Inc.)

Automated confocal microscope system for end point and advanced high-resolution kinetic experiments. The microscope is equipped with temperature, humidity and carbon dioxide control units, enabling long-term continuous observation of living cells.  Four EMCCD cameras enable very fast (up to 29 fps) and high sensitive acquisition of images. An integrated tip-based pipettor allows “on the fly” pipetting to measure fast kinetics. Our CV6000 contains two dry objectives (10x and 60x) and two water immersion lenses with automated water supply (20x and 40x). Observation mode can be switched between confocal, epi-fluorescence, brightfield and phase-contrast mode using 6-, 24-, 96- and 384-well plate format. The system works with four solid lasers with the excitation wavelengths at 405nm, 488nm, 561nm 635 nm and additional 365 nm LED source for the UV excitation. The microscope is fully integrated into the LAT robotic screening platform. Standard analytical object recognition software can be used for fast batch analysis of images.
