The death of a loved one is always a painful loss. More and more frequently, people who lose a loved one ask guests at the memorial service to forego considerations such as flowers and wreaths and to donate to research on a particular disease instead.
Here's how it's done:
- In your death notice, ask people to donate to the DZNE instead of purchasing flowers or wreaths. Provide our account number for donations and give the intended purpose as "Bereavement First Name + Last Name," so that we can properly allocate the resulting donations.
- Four to six weeks following your request in this form, we'll send you a list of the donors' names and indicate the total amount that was donated in connection with your bereavement. If you wish, we'll also send each donor a letter of thanks. For donations of 200 euros or more, we'll also issue donation receipts to those donors for which we have mailing addresses.
Please contact us if you would like your bereavement-related donations to go to research on a specific neurodegenerative disease.
