iScan - 3rd DZNE Interdisciplinary Symposium on Spatial Navigation in Ageing & Cognition
Ground-breaking advances in research have uncovered the neural systems underlying spatial cognition and navigation. With the population aging at an unprecedented rate it is now crucial to understand the fundamental mechanisms of aging and disease, in particular their impact upon spatial cognition, to develop clinical assessment tools and interventions that help maintain people’s independence. Tackling these issues requires a coordinated approach, and we have therefore organised a unique meeting that brings together leading scientists in the field of aging/neurodegenerative disease and spatial cognition research, who use a diverse range of methodologies and species. Participants present their work via talks and posters, and there will be ample opportunities for discussion.
