About us

Neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s are the scourges of an ageing society. Research into these diseases is the task of the newly founded “Deutschen Zentrums für Neurodegenerative Erkrankungen (DZNE)” (German Centre for Neurodegenerative Diseases) under the umbrella of the Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft (Helmholtz Association).

The DZNE is not restricted to one location but consists of a network – the core centre in Bonn and for the time being six high-performance partner locations in Rostock/Greifswald, Magdeburg, Göttingen, Witten-Herdecke, Tübingen and Munich.
