Prof. Eckart Altenmüller found a way to combine his musical talents with a medical degree and extensive scientic research in order to find new ways decode the mysteries of the human brain. Altenmüller has been the Director of the Institutes for Music Physiology and Musicians’ Medicine at the Hannover University of Music and Drama, since 1994. In 2005, he was inducted as a member of the Götting Academy of Sciences and elected President of the German Society for Music Physiology and Musicians’ Medicine.
His musical performance will include selected works from flute literature spanning three centuries. It will be demonstrated in connection with a discussion on how increasing demands can influence the neuroplasticity of the brain. This is a unique opportunity you will not want to miss.
