Prof. Dr. Vjera Holthoff

Curriculum Vitae

Vjera Holthoff studied medicine at the University of Cologne and received her degree as medical doctor in 1987 at the Institute of Anatomy, Department of Neuroanatomy. From 1987 to 1989, she was a fellow of the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft at the Max-Planck-Institute for Neurological Research and the Department of Neurology at the University of Cologne. Another fellowship brought her as a postdoc in neurological nuclear medicine to the PET Centre, University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor. In 1992, Holthoff returned as a research fellow to the Max-Planck-Institute for Neurological Research. She got her admission as a specialist in neurology in 1994 followed by the admission as a specialist in psychiatry in 1997 and 2001 as a specialist in clinical geriatrics. In 1995 she moved to the Technical University of Dresden, where she worked as a research fellow at the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy and from 1997 to 2008 as a senior physician. In 2002 Vjera Holfhoff obtained the Venia legendi for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the TU Dresden. In 2008 she was offered the W2-Professorship in Old Age Psychiatry with a focus on cognitive neuropsychiatry at the TU Dresden and has been the head of this division of the Medical Faculty since then and Vice-chairwomen of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy . Since 2010 Vjera Holthoff is group leader at DZNE in Dresden.
