Dr. Stefan Remy

Curriculum Vitae

Stefan Remy studied medicine and received his MD from the medical faculty of the University of Bonn. From 2003 until 2005, he worked as researcher in the field of experimental epileptology and cognition research with Prof. Heinz Beck at the University of Bonn. Subsequently, on a Feodor-Lynen-Fellowship of the Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung, he joined the research group of Prof. Nelson Spruston at the Department of Neurobiology and Physiology of the Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, USA. In 2007, Remy returned to the University of Bonn and lead the BONFOR Junior Reseach Group “Regulation of Pyramidal Cell Function by Hippocampal Interneurons” at the Clinic for Epileptology.

Since October 2009, he leads the reseach group “Dendritic Signal Integration in the CNS”, funded by the Ministry of Innovation, Science, Research and Technology of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. Stefan Remy is referee for diverse scientific journals and member of the “Neurowissenschaftliche Gesellschaft”, the Society for Neuroscience and the “Deutsche Physiologische Gesellschaft”. In addition, he is group leader at the DZNE in Bonn since August 2010.
