Frank Jessen studied medicine in Homburg/Saar and New York. In 2002, he received his speciality for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy from the Bonn University Hospital. Furthermore he currently holds a professorship for clinical dementia research at the University of Bonn. Additionally is the vice director of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy and psychiatric head of interdisciplinary clinical research center for neurodegenerative disorders at the University Hospital of Bonn. He is the main author of the S3- guidelines on diagnostics and treatment of dementia published in 2009 by the German Association for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy (DGPPN) and the German Association for Neurology (DGN) and he serves as the delegate of the DGPPN in the National Guideline for Dementia Care board.
